Craig Kenworthy — President of Porter County Park Board
Porter County Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce the election of Craig Kenworthy to President of the Porter County Park Board. Mr. Kenworthy has served on the Park Board for 6 years. He was appointed to the Park Board by the Porter County Council for a second four year term in January 2016.
Mr. Kenworthy has lived in Porter County all his life. He, his wife Deanna, and their two sons currently reside in Morgan Township. Mr. Kenworthy grew up in Valparaiso, graduated from Valparaiso High School, and attended the former Purdue North Central. He is a union pipefitter for Local 597. He says, “My family’s roots run deep [in Porter County.] I have a great love for this county and what it has to offer families.”
As President of the Porter County Park Board, Mr. Kenworthy hopes to see the education center silo completed, as well as the continued development and completion of the Natural Playground, both at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. He also hopes to obtain funding and create the proposed Aukiki Park in Pleasant Township.
Porter County Park Board meetings are open to the public. The Park Board convenes the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm in the Porter County Administration Building. Public comments are welcome.
