From small, intimate parties to weddings to large-scale community events, rental facilities at Porter County Parks offer a variety of choices for your special events. Browse our facilities below or use the form on this page to contact us for quotes and availability.

Rentals begin with a base price listed for each facility below. Electric, picnic tables (besides those already in the picnic shelters), chairs, canopy tents, and more are available for an additional fee. For information on these fees, please call our office or fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

To reserve a facility at Brincka Cross Gardens or Sunset Hill Farm, go to our online customer portal and request a reservation. If you do not hear from us within 5 business days of making your online reservation, call us at 219-465-3586 to check the status of your reservation.

Brincka Cross Gardens

The gardens and the former residence at this unique park are available year-round for events. Spring and summer weddings in the garden are spectacular. The house has a full kitchen and can seat up to 40 people. Bridal showers, corporate retreats, business meetings, and intimate gatherings are all possibilities with this unique and private facility that features unique architecture and a truly special history.

Horton Family Children’s Education Center

The Horton Family Children’s Education Center at Sunset Hill Farm County Park is a silo-shaped building that’s great for events, conferences, and STEM-learning programs. It has a kitchenette and bathrooms, and holds 96 people inside. The Children’s Education Center is located right off of the main parking lot.

Nancy Hardesty Gazebo

The Nancy Hardesty Gazebo at Sunset Hill Farm County Park is a popular location for weddings, showers, and picnics. The gazebo is located near the main parking lot and also directly next to the North Field, a wide-open grassy area perfect for large outdoor events.

Price: $150/day

Picnic Shelters

Three picnic shelters are available at Sunset Hill Farm County Park: the Pine Shelter, the Hickory Shelter, and the Campground Shelter.

• The Pine Shelter is located adjacent to the Amphitheater and near the entrance to wooded hiking trails. It includes a grill and tables, and comfortably holds about 40 people.

• The Hickory Shelter is located near the front entrance of the park, the Program Center, and the Natural Playground. It includes a grill and tables, and comfortably holds about 25 people.

• The Campground Shelter is located in our campground at the 700 North entrance of Sunset Hill. There are grills, picnic tables, a fireplace, a communal fire pit, and primitive toilets. The shelter holds about 40 people. The campground is also available to rent for groups or individual sites.

Sunset Hill Trails

Sunset Hill Farm County Park boasts 5 miles of trails through the woods, prairie, and fields. These beautiful trails are perfect for walking, hiking, or trail running, however some of them cover quite rugged terrain and large hills. They are not handicapped accessible or stroller-friendly. Bikes and motorized vehicles are not allowed. The trails are available to rent for 5K, 10K, and Cross Country events.

Sunset Hill North Field

The North Field is located adjacent to the main parking lot and the Nancy Hardesty Gazebo. Runs typically begin and end in the North Field. It is also appropriate for events with large crowds: festivals, sporting events, etc.
